Building a time-saving tool and new website for an activity holiday brand.

Aragon Active Holidays

Aragon Active Holdiays are a family owned activity holiday company based in the Spanish Pyreneese.

"Come as a guest, leave as a friend" resonates in all aspects of the service offered by the family hosts, inviting guests on a range of group activity holidays in specialist activities such as photography, history or cooking to adventure activities like snowshoeing, trail running or guided walking.

What initially started as a conversion rate optimisation project quickly turned into a full website redesign with focus on increasing holiday bookings and reducing administration time on repetitive clerical tasks.

Aragon Active asked us to help them increase direct holiday bookings on their website, whilst being sensitive to the usability needs of their over 50's primary audience.

As a part of this we were challenged with reducing the time staff needed to spend chasing guests for payments, booking contracts and explaining insurance obligations by making the website more integrated part of every guests booking process.

website features

The website is primarily a sales tool to showcase the variety of experiences and activities on offer when staying in the Pyreneese. Every page on the website is designed to inspire the user with trip ideas and discover exciting holiday options across a range of subjects.

Alongside the holiday sales pages and accomodation listings, the website features a bespoke booking system tailor made to the requirements of Aragon Active. This autoamted system lets the user select and book a trip, pay the deposit and complete the mandatory health and safety questionnaire, without requiring input from admin staff.

To further reduce administrative booking errors, accomodation bookings are integrated with Aragon Active's AirBnb, TripAdvisor and other 3rd party booking companies to reduce double bookings between platforms.

Bespoke booking process

The bespoke booking system we created reduces the business admin cost connected to a sale by automating repetitive tasks through the website. The system makes booking easy and efficient for the customer and assures them at every stage that their booking has been accepted with notification emails and receipts.

Helping users discover their dream trip

Users can learn about trip guides, activities and highlights through the trip activity icons. Holiday activities are linked across the website to help guests discover more trips related to their interests.

Increasing direct accomodation bookings

To increase retained profit from accommdation bookings we created an impressive set of landing pages to increase the conversation rate of direct bookings on the Aragon Active website, reducing reliance on 3rd party travel agencies.

Fully responsive and mobile device optimised

By analysing the website's pre-development analytics we determined that the majority of users accessing the website did so using a laptop or desktop device.

However, as more and more web traffic is becoming mobile we ensured the handheld experience on the website was as equally efficient and enjoyable the desktop site. All of the websites we build for our clients are fully responsive, ensuring the users gets the best experience regardless of device.
